Waste wise Armadale

Project Summary

This collaborative project with Changeworks focussed on the facilitation of behavioural change in relation to waste prevention. The programme engaged with the West Lothian community targeting a total of 4,500 households. It aimed to deliver a significant reduction to waste arising in the target communities. Key to the success of the programme was the use of community advisors and champions, volunteers who will work with Changeworks during the delivery phase, engaging with householders on their doorstep and providing them with the guidance, tools and incentives that will enable them to make change. The development of a portfolio of incentives, and a range of education and awareness raising activities where central to this community engagement programme.
