Carbon Accounting for a major utility company
Project Summary
SISTech completed this project for a utility company working in the water sector. Keen on incorporating sustainability and carbon into their new 5 year business plans, the company developed some sustainability modelling to quantify the costs of GHGs and sustainability into their daily work. In order to take this to the rest of the industry, the multinational company worked with SIStech to validate and enhance these tools.
SISTech based their assessment on the five basic principles laid out by the GHG Protocol: accuracy, relevance, completeness, transparency and consistency. The tools were then evaluated using these principles, and enhancement and modifications suggested. The evaluation designed around this framework in order to maintain international environmental reporting standards.
