Water Industry Research Needs Workshop

Project Summary

This workshop’s purpose was to identify climate change impacts for the water industry, and the research agenda needed to support the water industry in dealing with the consequent issues. It also encouraged networking and understanding between North American and UK delegates, to increase the likelihood of joint research and collaboration in the future. The workshop was designed to use interactive exercises that facilitated delegates to think about different aspects of the future, and encouraged structured discussion to generate specific outputs deploying the knowledge of all delegates. This generated 14 proposed research specifications, each of which detailed research content, objectives, stakeholders and timelines. Feedback from delegates indicated that the workshop was generally seen as both productive and enjoyable with the generated research specifications being viewed as a successful output.
