Systems Thinking

It has become clear that the complex factors involved in sustainable development can't be tackled in isolation. Technological development, without due consideration of its wider and long-term impacts, will not bring about more sustainable solutions to the global issues presently being faced. As such, it is holistic, systems based solutions that must be sought, utilising expertise across traditional subject areas.

Sustainable development involves the balancing of economic, social and environmental objectives, now and in the future. Achieving a successful balance requires a systems based approach such that all relevant thinking is ingrained in the proposed solutions.

SISTech has extensive experience in systems thinking and developing methodologies appropriate for application in a wide variety of different sectors.

Example Projects

Triple Bottom Line Reporting - SISTech has been working with EDI and Wren & Bell to develop a framework for assessing sustainability across a property portfolio.

Assessing the Compatibility of SEPA Procedures with the Revised Statutory Guidance to SEPA on Sustainable Development - A SD assessment framework was devised by which procedural manuals were assessed in light of statutory guidance provided to SEPA regarding sustainable development indicators and guidance.
