Environmental Enhancement Action Plan for the South East Wedge Development

Project Summary

The South East Wedge Development (Midlothian and Edinburgh) proposed construction of 6,000 new homes in four new, or expanded, local communities in an area covering 1,370 hectares. SISTech chaired the 'South East Wedge Project Group', which produced an Environmental Enhancement Action Plan to ensure that the environmental potential of the new development was maximised through the integration of amenity, natural habitat and urban drainage.

The group comprises representatives from Midlothian Council, City of Edinburgh Council, Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA), Scottish Natural Heritage (SNH) and Scottish Water.
