Strategic Environmental Assessment for West Edinburgh Planning Framework

Project Summary

The Scottish Executive prepared a West Edinburgh Planning Framework that identified West Edinburgh as a location where a co-ordinated approach to planning is required in the nation’s interest. SISTech contributed to the Strategic Environmental Assessment of the West Edinburgh Planning Framework Review. SISTech’s responsibility included the organisation of workshops with key stakeholders during the scoping stage, and the assessment of the impacts in the water and waste fields. This project is an early example of the application of SEA to a policy of major developments in Scotland.
