Experience and Expertise

Dr Philippa Parmiter is an experienced project manager, qualified Prince 2 Practitioner and Chartered Engineer, who joined SISTech in October 2010. She has a Masters degree in Environmental Protection and Management (Distinction) from Edinburgh University and a PhD in Physical Electronics from Kings College, London. Her recent project work includes identifying and analysing key knowledge exchange mechanisms for research into sustainability in urban environments and she has extensive experience in actively facilitating knowledge exchange from organising seminar series and training sessions, to preparing documentation aimed at different and various end-users. She has also conducted a study of the viability of photovoltaic installations in Scotland, in terms both of the sustainability, or energy payback time and potential for carbon mitigation, and the financial payback time in view of the recent introduction of Feed-In Tariffs in the UK.
