Gareth Oakley - Project Researcher

Experience and Expertise
Gareth honed his research skills while completing a PhD. in materials chemistry. Since that time he has developed an understanding of energy demand/supply issues and the present capabilities of renewable energy systems, allied with awareness of associated issues surrounding transport and climate change.
Projects Gareth has been involved with include feasibility studies for proposed renewable energy projects as well as both energy efficiency reviews and carbon footprinting studies for commercial and residential properties. He has also undertaken the development of a transport impact assessment for a waste facility, development of a tool illustrating the true cost to business of car-based travel and analysis of the feasibility of kerbside recycling schemes for multi-occupancy homes.
Gareth is an affiliate of the Energy Institute, and a member of both Energy Action Scotland and Community Action for Energy (CAfE).
